The Role:
Carey Baptist Grammar School seeks an experienced Clarinet Specialist to join our Performing Arts team. The role involves teaching clarinet from beginner to advanced levels across Junior, Middle and Senior School students, contributing to the vibrant music culture at Carey.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract working 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE), with potential to increase time fraction.

The Average Day:
- Teach individual and small-group clarinet lessons across year levels.
- Rehearse and direct student ensembles or chamber groups.
- Prepare students for performances, assessments, and examinations.
- Collaborate with Performing Arts colleagues on concerts and events.
- Support students’ musical growth through encouragement and feedback.
The Person:
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- A genuine passion for inspiring and engaging young musicians.
- Strong clarinet performance and ensemble experience.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills across all age groups.
- A collaborative and professional approach within a team environment.
- A commitment to musical excellence and student wellbeing.
- Knowledge of VCE and IB is desirable.
- Ensemble experience is desirable.
A valid Victorian Institute Teaching (VIT) registration or Working with Children Check is a requirement of employment in this position.
